Pre-filters
and primary filters are found in furnaces and air conditioners
servicing as the prime air cleaner or as a pre-filter to protect
and extend the life of secondary high efficiency filters.
Effective on particles in the
10 micron size and larger.
Secondary
extended surface filters are commonly used in commercial/industrial
HVAC equipment after the pre-filter section and in front of
heating and cooling coils. Serve to protect ventilating equipment
and people from the chronic exposure to fine particles as
small as 1 micron in size.
High Efficiency
Particulate Air (H.E.P.A.) or "absolute" filters are used
where critical environments such as hospitals, labs, clean
rooms and biohazard sites require absolute protection from
contamination. Efficiencies are usually in the 99.97% range
on particles as small as
0.3 micrometres (microns).
Process fluid
filtration equipment, including both vessels and replaceable
media, are found extensively in the beverage, chemical manufacturing,
cosmetic, food processing, metalworking, paint, pharmaceutical
and photo-processing industries.
